No One Should Face the Day Hungry

“No One Should Face the Day Hungry.” That is the guiding call of Brazosport Cares, a Brazoria County nonprofit working to ensure families have access to healthy, affordable food.

In 2025, Brazosport Cares experienced a record-breaking year, distributing more than 1.7 million meals to neighbors across the community. Yet the need continues to grow. Increasingly, the organization is seeing working families arriving in the evenings for food support, many seeking help for the first time as rising costs force difficult choices between groceries, rent, or gas.

To respond, Brazosport Cares is in the final stages of moving into a new facility that will expand its ability to serve the community. The organization also supports in-school pantries and operates an additional pantry site in Sweeney, serving families in Bay City, West Columbia, and surrounding areas.

Through food distribution, education, collaboration, and advocacy, Brazosport Cares remains committed to one clear mission: ensuring that no one in Brazoria County faces the day hungry.
